Know which sites and tactics yield the best results when looking for the right role.
Update your resume regularly.
Refresh your resume and post it to job boards monthly to stay at the top of search results. When you apply to a role you really want, customize your resume to show off skills that match the specific position requirements.
Cast your net as wide as possible.
In addition to Seen, put your resume on Indeed.com, Glassdoor and other job boards. Get creative—find tech opportunities on Stack Overflow and relevant public Slack channels. Also, the more connections you have on LinkedIn, the more you expand the reach and visibility of your profile.
Use Indeed.com job search tools.
Help employers find you—upload your resume to Indeed Resume. Create Job Alerts on Indeed.com to see new roles that match your interests and install Indeed for Chrome to track your applications and interviews.
Build and leverage your network.
Networking is scary, but it can generate big wins for you. Check Eventbrite for local networking events, join LinkedIn groups and other professional associations, and attend Meetups to mingle with people in your industry.
Tip: Ask a professional in your industry out to coffee to learn about their job and potential opportunities at their company (check out this cheat sheet for more on how). Don’t forget to take care of the bill.
