What’s your background? Career aspirations?
After graduating from Virginia Tech, I worked as a software developer for a consulting company for four years. My aspiration is to continue to be an engineer, as I absolutely love it. Being able to do what I love, as part of a team of people just as passionate about their jobs as myself, is the type of environment I aim for.
What triggered your job search? What drew you to Seen?
In my previous job, the learning opportunities were plateauing, and there’s no growth without learning. This pushed me to start looking around for new opportunities and to see what was out there. Most search engines for job listings are not able to show you what is actually relevant to you, with misleading or outdated information. And applying to career sites will only lead to a conversation with the company if your application uses the right keywords. Seen reverses that by having companies contact you, saving time and leading to higher quality interactions with those companies.
How did Seen ease your job search?
It allowed me to spend less time going through job listings and filling applications, while spending time only talking to companies that are actually interested in you. It’s unlike any other job search tool out there.
What excites you most about your new role?
I get to work with an incredible team as part of a company I probably wouldn’t have heard of otherwise.
Tips for fellow tech job seekers?
Keep an open mind and give every company that gets in touch with you a chance. That doesn’t mean to just accept anything, just simply that a great opportunity may come from an unexpected place.
