What’s your background? Career aspirations?

I was working as a manager at a place I liked, but wanted to move into a position with more responsibilities and salary.

What triggered your job search? What drew you to Seen?

We had a department re-organization where my team was dramatically changed, and the director never consulted his manager about the change. I filled out my Indeed resume the next day and a few weeks later Seen approached me and I decided to give it a try.

How did Seen ease your job search?

My first round with Seen was frustrating, because no one reached out to me for an interview. But they had some great career coaches who helped to to improve my resume, refine my career goals and interview skills. They also advised me that December was a terrible time to look for work, and not to give up hope. They invited me back to try Seen again, and that time I got several interviews that I was very excited about.

What excites you most about your new role?

I was happy enough in my former position that I was able to be very picky, and wait for the right opportunity. My new role has terrific boss, coworkers and opportunities for growth.

Tips for fellow tech job seekers?

Try mock interviews and rehearse your top STAR (Situation Task Action Result). Even though you’ll never get asked those questions, it greatly helped me mentally prepare.
