What’s your background? Career aspirations?
I graduated with a degree in computer engineering and have since gained a variety of experience in tech support, software engineering and co-founding a software development school. More than just gaining technical expertise in my work, I strive to become an effective leader of a team that is passionate about using their range of skills to improve people’s lives.
What triggered your job search? What drew you to Seen?
I mainly started exploring new opportunities because I wanted a new arena where I could face more complex and dynamic challenges. I found it annoying that there was no central source of truth for applying to jobs. Each company having their own standalone—often archaic and buggy—system that forced me to register for yet another account and fill in my profile despite already uploading my resume was not very pleasant. I chose to use Seen because it was a streamlined way of getting my profile directly to top tech companies for positions filtered specifically for my profile.
How did Seen ease your job search?
The system is set up so that there are no surprises, making the whole application process less stressful. As odd as it may sound, Seen made me feel empowered as a job seeker. While the system generally standardizes each candidate’s profile, it does it in a way that made me feel like I was not just another piece of paper. While I did not use it, the fact that Seen also includes free mentoring with professional career coaches made the process comfortable, as if the system was supporting me rather than fighting me like some other systems do.
What excites you most about your new role?
The constant interplay between creativity and technicality in solving open-ended business challenges.
