What’s your background? Career aspirations?
I have undergraduate degrees in math and economics. I wanted to pursue a career as a data scientist, so I got a master’s degree in data science. I recently took a job as a data scientist and hope to lead a team of data scientists and maybe even serve as a chief data officer some day.
What triggered your job search? What drew you to Seen?
I was in the last semester of my masters degree and was looking for full-time employment after the completion of my degree. Searching for jobs is almost like a full time job on its own, and it can sometimes feel like you can only get your foot in the door if you know someone who works at the company. I have a profile on Indeed, and someone from Seen contacted me saying they were putting my profile on there for a trial period. It seemed like a great platform that would generate more interest from employers.
How did Seen ease your job search?
The Seen experience was great. As soon as my profile was put online, I started receiving contact from recruiters for interviews. I was offered a job before I even got to use the myriad of tools the service has to offer. The Seen platform is unrivaled compared to other platforms.
What excites you most about your new role?
Everything about my new role is exciting. It’s my first real job in industry and I don’t think I could have landed a better first job. It’s a dream come true.
Tips for fellow tech job seekers?
Definitely make a profile on Seen, and be sure to utilize all the services on there. In the job search, it’s the little things that matter. You should be sure to take every advantage you can get.
