What’s your background? Career aspirations?
I’m a developer who has a passion for the web and its front-end technologies. I started my journey in programming at Michigan Tech University. There, I learned about programming basics. However, I was unhappy with the environment I was in. I just wanted to build cool stuff! My research and dreams led me to General Assembly. I dove deep into web development, and found myself in love with front-end frameworks and user experience design. Since then, I’ve worked with small teams in the tech world to create awesome UI’s. For my career I hope to become the best developer I can be and help teams create great apps and achieve success.
What triggered your job search? What drew you to Seen?
At my last role, there were a wealth of culture mismatches with myself and the company. I originally chose that role due to being unprepared to find the right job. This time, I wanted to make sure the role I took was a perfect fit for everyone involved. I heard about Seen and how much benefit a job searcher like me could get from it.
How did Seen ease your job search?
Seen was very accessible, and it brought to me opportunities I wouldn’t have found otherwise.
What excites you most about your new role?
I’m excited about the people I am around, and how much impact I can bring. I believe this new role will be my favorite and most rewarding so far.
Tips for fellow tech job seekers?
I would suggest that other job seekers give every opportunity a chance. Personally, I usually stray away from some opportunities because of my own preconceptions. Through Seen, every interview request and potential connection has the chance to be your next dream job.
