Aloha Point of Sale (POS) Architect
Based out of the Home Office in Greenwood Village, the POS Architect (PA) at Red Robin is the primary focal point in which business needs meet Point of Sale (POS) requirements. This role requires an extensive and holistic understanding of the entire suite of Aloha technologies and integrations. Additionally, POS extends to any point of sale within the restaurant technology stack which also includes (but not limited to) table top devices, handhelds, Kiosk, etc. This role acts as the subject matter expert on all things involving the POS and provides strategic direction, recommendations, and insights that frame thinking, inform decisions and fuel business growth. Supporting and advising Manager of Restaurant Technologies, the PA is responsible for understanding in-depth business requirements, operations, trends and applying their in-depth understand of all current POS technologies that enable them. The PA oversees the lifecycle of service enablement from Strategy, Design, and through Transition to Operation. A PA must be able to successfully identify the technology solution and configuration for desired business outcomes so that vendor partners can successfully meet their Stakeholder’s ultimate strategic goals. This role is essential to the organization’s innovation efforts. This requires helping other business units (Operations, Alternative Channels, Innovation, Marketing, etc.) integrate new technologies into the existing POS technology stack and develop entities that support initiatives. In addition, this role requires creative thinking and assists the Innovation Team with development of our next generation technologies.

Essential Functions:

POS platform implementation, integration, governance and overall management of the POS System and Red Robin labs as it relates to POS configuration
Serve as the primary technical resource for all POS configuration outside of database management
Advise Product Owner team on database management when necessary
Perform troubleshooting with POS vendor and internal IT teams where required to resolve technical system issues related to the POS technology stack
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the organization for the POS System
Execute and maintain all release management efforts for POS technologies
Verify that the site environment meets the requirements prior to installation or rollout of any POS update
Design and maintain architecture diagrams for all POS technologies
Establish and maintain a mapping of POS applications and technologies to the Stakeholder’s capabilities
Provide a lead technical role in researching alternate solutions, and making recommendations associated with the development, testing, issue resolution and implementation of integration POS solutions
Orchestrate integration projects between technical units and development teams
Define, document, plan, develop, test, deploy and support the integration of POS hardware and software into new or existing systems throughout the enterprise.
Collaborate with analysts, designers and system owners in the testing of newly integrated hardware programs and applications to support POS.
Recommend, schedule and perform hardware and software improvements and upgrades to the POS
Track POS application and technology portfolios throughout operation through decommissioning
Support all efforts to fulfill PCI requirements impacted by POS technologies
Participate in addressing issues in a timely manner while supporting Stakeholders by defining and implementing communication protocols to support incident resolution.
Provide support to gather, analyze, store and share knowledge and information within Red Robin IT; promote structured knowledge management practices and knowledge distribution across the enterprise
Work with the Manager of Restaurant Technologies to engage IT Restaurant Operations’ (ITRO) stakeholders to develop detailed requirements
Understand Stakeholder strategic direction for their business domain
Identify and evaluate competing service offerings from outside of IT
Communicate service capabilities and priorities to service teams
Represent POS initiatives before the Enterprise Architecture Review Board, Change Control Board and Security Council
Develop events plan to test for stress, peak, endurance issues within the service portfolio
Work with QA teams to develop test strategies, plans, scripts to validate the completeness of desired business functional and non-functional requirements; lead functionality testing where necessary; oversee release planning and execution prior to deployment
Facilitate business improvement by developing collaborative relationships with stakeholders to understand detailed functional and non-functional needs for technology services
Provide support to ensure that the Manager of Restaurant Technologies continues to understand the needs of existing Stakeholders, and that these needs are represented in the individual product backlogs
Provide support to understand and document the desired outcome of a service, and to decide if the Stakeholder's need can be fulfilled using an existing POS service offering or if a new or changed service must be created
When a new service is required, the PA meets with the Stakeholder to document existing business processes, develop user stories, confirm data and user interface requirements, develop a testing strategy with approved acceptance criteria, and outline business performance objectives for the service
Provide support to translate business needs and plans into capacity and performance requirements for services and IT infrastructure, and to ensure that future capacity and performance needs can be fulfilled
Collaborate with the BRD and Manager of Restaurant Technologies to identify new service changes
Provide support to manage the service portfolio. Service Portfolio Management ensures that the service provider has the right mix of services to meet required business outcomes at an appropriate level of investment.
Adhere to consistent, agreed upon process and tools
Understand ITRO stakeholders’ strategic direction and goals; supports BRD and Manager of Restaurant Technologies by providing ITRO specific strategies
Qualifications:

5+ years experience of administration, ownership, and integration of Aloha suite of technologies
Proven track record and success in senior business analyst roles
3-5 years of relevant IT BA experience
CBAP, CCBA, ITSM, ITIL understanding and/or certifications
Multiple years within Restaurant, Retail or Food and Beverage industries
Standard software lifecycle development or IT service management functions
2+ years experience with SaaS or hosted technology integration management
Experience working across multiple domains with various executive stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Able to collaborate, negotiate and drive business concepts into technology services with business partners
Proven ability to think strategically and to communicate the strategy to others
Capable of taking on a admin or configuration manager role for multiple domain specific technologies
Strong understanding of IT operations and IT integration lifecycles, templates and methodologies
Detail oriented and well-organized
Superior analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities
Experience in the management technology and service lifecycles
Seasoned presenter in business settings
