The Application DBA/Technical Lead role will be a part of the Advantage Data Warehouse program, specifically focusing on iODS (Integrated Operational Data Store) initiative. The iODS is a data repository that will house data from operational transactional systems. The iODS will synchronize data from the operational systems (Retail & Commercial Auto Finance Servicing Systems) via batch and near-real-time data interfaces. The iODS will also be a key data provider for downstream consumers, which includes application interfaces, reporting and analytics, the data warehouse and document generation.
Position must have extensive experience in Oracle database design, analysis, modeling, development, administration, implementation, trouble shooting, release management and quality management, especially with Oracle RAC and Exadata platform. Candidates must have hands on experience with Oracle 11g and 12c, Oracle Golden Gate, Erwin, Oracle Golden Gate Veridata, PL/SQL and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). Knowledge of or experience with database virtualization tools such as Delphix is desired but not required. The role is responsible for leading the team performing integration of the data via integrated Oracle views, as well as the replication of data into the environment via Oracle Golden Gate or batch processing. Also, they will be responsible for the development of data components, monitoring of the environment (through OEM and other tools), database capacity planning and overseeing performance testing and tuning of the data components (in Linux/Unix platform).
Applicant will work closely with a variety of groups throughout the organization, which will require the ability to communicate with associates with backgrounds ranging from Database Administration/operations, Application Support, Networking, Business Users etc., from a wide range of operating units. The successful candidate must also exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills and have experience interacting with internal technical and business partners as well as external partners. Experience with on-shore and off-shore contractors is a plus.
-Finance or Automotive Industry experience
-Experience in Agile / SCRUM (with sprints) methodologies
-Exposure with Version One and Blue Print requirement management tools as well as HP Quality Center testing tool
-Exposure to Delphix or other database virtualization platforms
-7+ years of experience in database technologies, data design & performance optimization for large OLTP applications
-Excellent experience with Exadata architecture that includes various configurations and features such as Smart Scan, Hybrid Columnar Compression, Flash Cache, Predicate Filtering etc.
-Hands on experience of RAC components and architecture including performance tuning
-Experience in configuring/performance tuning and troubleshooting Oracle GoldenGate replication tool technology
-Excellent PL/SQL procedure and SQL skills
-Unix shell scripting, AWK scripting for automating several DBA tasks
-Experience with Entity Relationship Modeling tools (ERWin modeling software preferred)
-Coordinate, support and troubleshoot ODS Infrastructure including activities such as environment buildout, database sizing, tuning recommendations (Database and SQL Queries)
-Securing PII data using Data Redaction
-Owns the authoring and coordination to deliver key data specific documentation including the Logical and Physical Infrastructure Design, DB Configuration Guide, Runbook, Failover Plan, Cutover Plan and Deployment Plan
-Ability to work in a large, complex business and technical environment with competing priorities
-Provide input to planning activities to estimate effort to complete sprint planning and execution tasks/activities
-Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task
-Fast starter, effectively delivers with limited supervision
-Must have excellent communication skills written as well as verbal; must be able to articulate the value proposition of solution/services to senior teams from client/prospect
