The Marketing Technology Architect will report to the Vice President, Marketing Technology focused on Customer Communication and Marketing Execution, including Promotion Management. This role entails: strategizing, roadmap planning, tool selecting, architecting/designing, building and implementing technology solutions to solve complex business problems as well as partnering with other technology and business teams to deliver enterprise wide end to end technology solutions for Neiman Marcus.
Lead architecture, technical evaluation and design, and total cost of ownership determination for large scale cross-functional, enterprise-wide programs.
Be the expert and point-of-contact in core technical capabilities, processes, and applications for the Communication Hub and Marketing Execution portfolio of Marketing Technology. Expected to solve the toughest technical challenges within the scope of the team.
Responsible and accountable for the architecture, technical design, performance, and solutions for the projects/programs in the Customer Communication and Marketing Execution portfolio.
Work with users and business executives to understand strategies and operations in order to develop technology capability roadmaps that are aligned with business/domain roadmaps.
Lead and drive the conversation for long range business capability and architecture plans.
Provides advisory consulting to business and IT executives.
Provides mentoring and coaching to junior staff.
Extensive experience implementing and configuring Marketing and Communication Systems: email, chat, automated bots, campaign management, promotion management, and custom development using web based, cloud architecture and micro-services.
Has experience in managing and processing large data sets distributed on multi-server, distributed systems from inception to execution. Expertise in integration patterns with various internal and external systems. Experience with data structures, ETL, and real-time communication. Familiarity with tools such as Informatica, Snaplogic, Ab Initio, IBM MQ, and Tibco EMS.
Programming experience in building high quality software. Skills with Java and Python preferred.
Ability to design highly available systems with fallback capability.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business and technical challenges
Experience with preparing systems for peak retail season.
Experience developing and leveraging relationships in cross-functional teams and across org charts
Experience influencing organizational decision making
Ability to lead end to end business process discussions
Demonstrate strong understanding of development processes and agile methodologies
Excellent presentation and communication skills
