We are looking for a hands-on and proactive Automation Engineer- Level 2 who will support global projects working from our Mississauga office and from customer sites. The candidate will primarily be responsible to lead automation projects and support the organization’s on-going and future assignments. You will also provide internal information technology support, such as server security, software updates, and hardware maintenance. This position will provide technical and troubleshooting support for automation and control systems.
Main Responsibilities Include:
Design, implement and test changes to software, computer models, databases, servers and HMI systems
Manage assigned Automation projects
Develop and commission level 2 supervisory control systems based on customer site
Perform back-ups of Level 2 application servers & data servers with an automated backup strategy
Ensure and optimize availability, performance, and quality of Level 2 systems
Perform server hardware upgrades as necessary.
Develop and customize interfaces to motion and logic control software and hardware using standard protocols and custom APIs
Provide support in virtual debug of automation issues in new equipment
Analyze complex equipment and create behavior model
Support changes to HMI’s as required
Maintain catalog and organize all server software and licenses.
Generate accounting daily and monthly production reports.
Perform network connectivity support.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues with Level 2 Servers.
Train customer’s personnel on the use and management of the Level 2 system.
Provide service and support to customers remotely or onsite.
Provide internal information technology support, such as server security, software updates, and hardware maintenance
Integrate and implement business solutions related to information technology
Qualifications & Experience:
B.A. /B.SC in IT/ Computer Science/ Systems Analysis.
Over 6 years’ experience
Microsoft operative systems (Windows Server 201x and Windows 7, 10)
SQ SERVER and ORACLE Database engines
Object-Oriented programming languages (Java Script, C++, C#, DELPHI)
Expertise on OPC Client/Server
Expertise on Virtualization Technologies
Experience with in test automation tool is a preferred
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
Willing to travel internationally, as required
Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
Self-motivated and with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
