CLX Engineering needs a talented Electrical Specialist to assist Engineers and other Electrical Specialists with the creation, maintenance, troubleshooting, or commissioning of controls systems. Electrical Specialists have the knowledge and practical application experience to quickly get involved in the many facets of controls projects. This position works directly more senior specialists or engineers under the command of an Engineering Manager. Successful candidates will have experience meeting customer specifications and project deadlines.
Electrical Specialists work with a team of senior personnel and it is expected Electrical Specialists will seek out training and materials to further their knowledge and experience. Salary and position level are dependent on skill, years of proven experience and the ability to “jump right in” to a busy work environment. This is not an entry level position and candidates may be asked to prove their competency during an interview by working a multimeter or talking through panel board assembly with the manager of the manufacturing shop.

Electrical Specialists are responsible for the following:
 Execution of electrical theory application (how it works) and electrical practices (wiring and devices) at a proficient level
 Accurately reading, interpreting and installing customer specifications and meeting project deadlines working with CLX team. Electrical Specialists oversee and work with electricians to meet installation requirements as well.
 Trouble shooting 480-volt AC to as low as 24-volt DC systems.
 Traveling both in and out of the Central Florida area to meet project demands
 Practicing safety processes using personal protection equipment (PPE) appropriate to the situation
 A strong proficiency utilizing hand tools such as electric drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
 Operating electrical testing devices (multi-meters)
 Employing common computer software effectively (Microsoft office, internet, etc.)
 Analyzing and making the most of basic observation and problem-solving abilities

Electrical Specialists must have:
 Some experience as a Panel Builder or Electrical Specialist installing, maintaining, repairing and wiring on electrical systems
 Experience working and troubleshooting 480-volt AC to 24-volt DC systems
 High school diploma or equivalent
 A clean driving record
 Ability to work non-standard hours (nights and weekends) when required
 A willingness and ability to pass a background check for employment with CLX Engineering and for our clients as requested
 Ability to travel out of the Central Florida area with little notice on occasion; travel between 25% - 50% depending on project.
 Travel internationally as required
 Ability to pass initial and random drug screenings
 A professional appearance and good communication skills
 Experience on airport, entertainment or other automated facilities or project inspecting, installing or trouble shooting electrical systems or components.
 AS in an electrical field or related mechanical field
