As a technology leader for our Data Measurements team, you will be leading and inspiring a team of engineers who are responsible for building out the tooling and infrastructure for our Small and Medium Business (SMB) platform and its customers. Using your experience to revisit, guide and drive technology decisions, you will not only help improve our data engineering capabilities but also be the SME when it comes to architecture design within the data organization. Your team will be integral in combining indexes across many teams to help answer specific questions and join to answer bigger picture questions.
You believe in the value of keeping track of data where it’s easily accessed and can be delivered quickly. Streamlining data schemas for retrieval is key not only to our business but the business of our SMB customers!
Prefer knowledge in Hadoop operations, Airflow, Apache Hive or similar technologies
ETL of production databases into a data warehouse
Joining logs and replicated databases in Hive (or PIG) or similar technologies
Understand how people make data-driven decisions
Significant prior success as a Software Engineer working on challenging problems of scale
Solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms and excellent programming skills
The ability to guide a team to achieve important goals together
Strong ability to coach developers, helping them improve their skills and grow their careers
Strong knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL
Experience with service-oriented and event-driven system architectures
Experience building high-performance distributed systems
6+ years industry experience in software development
2+ years industry experience in a leadership/mentorship role
BS in Computer Science or related area, or relevant work experience
