Align seeks an IT Transformation Program Manager with 8-10 years of professional experience, preferably in an IT professional services or management consulting firm. This is an ideal role for someone with strong consultative skills and IT infrastructure transformation expertise looking to grow into a leadership position. We are looking for an individual with a management consulting background with advanced presentation, organizational and analytical skills that we can groom into a leader within our IT Transformation Advisory team. Ideal candidates will have experience driving “current state” to “future state” infrastructure assessments. Candidates must have the technical knowledge and documentation skills to lead projects of this nature. A background in Data Center migration, optimization or consolidation project experience with exposure to application, workload, and cloud migration is preferred. Qualified individuals will be able to work in fast-paced enterprise-level environments requiring exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills. This is a highly visible role that will have direct interaction with Align’s key client executives and our internal senior management team. This role will help manage complex projects, working closely with other subject matter experts in a matrix environment to plan, schedule and execute projects for various-sized enterprise clients (infrastructure, storage, network, server and IT appliances, etc.). This person to assist with pre-sales presentations and solutions development. We expect this person to help drive the development and strategic direction of our IT Transformation Advisory solutions, while mentoring others within this growing consulting practice.
This role is based out of our New York City office. The position in its nature requires some travel, which at times could be up to 50%.

Partner with various SMEs to lead IT Advisory and Transformation programs
Help drive technology infrastructure from “current state to future state” with a focus on cloud migration
Participate in workshops with application owners to map dependencies and help determine migration plans
Manage "waves" within large data center migration projects
Learn our process and assist with the creation of statements of work and support the sales process
Manage large project teams consisting of: Align, the client and the vendors throughout the project
Gather documentation and work with project managers to build and develop a delivery plan for all the workstreams
Manage all migration plans and wave event planning (i.e., run books, execution plans)
Advise clients on potential risk, and manage client expectations
Continually improve the process and framework and update our migration solution
Minimum of eight years IT transformation and data center optimization project experience (assessments, migrations, consolidations, design and build, virtualization projects, etc.), ideally within a Management Consulting or IT Professional Services firm
Candidates with experience managing data center migration waves or aspects of a cloud, application or workload migration within the context of a data center move would be ideally suited for this role
Willing and able to learn quickly and take coaching for experienced management consultants
A holistic understanding of IT infrastructure inclusive of server, storage, network, database, systems, DR/business recovery and continuity practices, etc.
A foundational understanding of public cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and providers (AWS, Azure, Google) is preferred
Some familiarity with application and workload dependencies, architecture and service level requirements
Understands application and workload move dispositions (cloud, P2V, V2V, P2P, Lift and Shift) and the methodologies around each
Applied understanding of data center functions, technologies and interdependencies:
Experience with using IT service management tools (e.g.; ServiceNow)
Understanding of asset management (experience with tools/process)
Excellent communication, organization and writing skills are required
Able to create and manage budgets with guidance from the project or program manager
Understand project schedules and dependencies (Microsoft Project)
Familiar with project monitoring and corrective action
Able to generate project status reports and dashboards, meeting agendas and minutes and executive reports and presentations
Execute change control, quality, risk management and communications throughout the project
Advanced MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio and Office tools to manage plans, charts, reports and documentation skills
Able to earn PMP certification within 1-2 years
ITIL and ITSM knowledge and certifications desired
Must be able to travel as needed
Bachelor’s degree required, Master's degree preferred
