VMD has an exciting opportunity for you to join as a Lead Solutions Engineer working in our Washington, DC office. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Lead the design and implementation of new solutions;
Perform ongoing new technology discovery, analysis, evaluation, and assessments;
Comprehend business strategies and requirements and develop necessary designs and plans to ensure projects and solutions satisfy those needs;
Develop and demonstrate prototypes and new technology products;
Work with internal IT and business groups to gather requirements, vet proposed solutions, and develop configurations;
Work with external entities to identify new and/or changes to existing technologies and solutions. The entities will include: Federal agencies, Private organizations or groups, and Commercial entities;
Act as a contributing member of the project team from project inception to completion;
Assist with briefing IT and senior leadership on all active and future engineering and integration efforts;
Actively listen to program team and department problems and needs to implement that information when creating solution plans;
Provide advice and make decisions about which technologies would be suitable to use for various projects;
Collaborate with project managers and other staff members to develop budgets and timelines for solutions.
10+ years experience in the IT field;
Bachelors degree in engineering, technology or related field;
Experience working on AWS or Azure Cloud technologies;
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff;
Ability to work independently and manage work of self and others to a defined schedule;
Ability to work on large or multiple projects, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and to switch between tasks quickly.
