Marcum LLP, the parent company of Marcum Search, has a full time, direct hire opening in Melville NY for a senior level Network Engineer with strong Core Networking experience and the ability to be involved in the analysis, design, planning and implementation of network solutions in large /mid sized corporate environments.
Mid Level Engineers may be considered.

Occasional travel is required to other Marcum US offices will be required.

CCNP/CCDP is preferred; equivalent experience or certifications in process will be considered.

Position Summary
The Senior Network Engineer must have the ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Must be able to effectively listen and respond to business and IT objectives along with shifting needs based on new work. Must have the flexibility to adapt to changing environment/requirements and manage multiple tasks.

Qualification/Job Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of relevant job experience
Excellent project management, verbal and written communication skills, and customer service skills
Perform large scale network planning; plans, designs and implements infrastructure projects, technical processes and procedures as they relate to network engineering
In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure with an expertise in at least two core network technologies, such as routing, switching, collaboration and network security
Experience with designing and configuration of network infrastructure in large corporate environments, following best practice and validated designs
Must be able to troubleshoot network systematically; this includes understanding the infrastructure from the front and back end as well as how the employee will utilize the applications
Ability to proactively identify opportunities for improvement of network technologies
Ability to document network design and related processes using Microsoft Visio
Ability to work with minimal supervision and take ownership of problems and/or issues and ensures timely resolution
Act as escalation point and mentor for junior level staff, providing direction and guidance when necessary
Willingness to be part of IT Governance and Change Management processes
Willingness and ability participate in 24x7 network support rotation and handle escalations
BS in related technology field, or equivalent
Preferred Requirements

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – Routing and Switching, Wireless, Voice/Collaboration, Security or Datacenter
Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
Additional vendor technical certifications a plus (Riverbed, Citrix, VMware, etc.)
Technical Requirements
Strong knowledge and understanding of interior and exterior routing protocols, EIGRP, OSPF and BGP and SD-WAN technologies
Strong knowledge of core switching designs such as VLAN, RSTP, HSRP, VTP, LACP and 802.1Q
Knowledge and experience with modern datacenter designs, using Cisco Nexus technology such as VPC, VDC, OTV, FEX, and FCoE
Knowledge of next generation firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web proxies, VPN and other security practices
Experience with cloud technologies, AWS, Azure, Google a plus
Experience with designing and supporting wireless network infrastructure, 11a/g/n/ac Cisco WLC, CAPWAP, LWAPP. Cisco ISE experience a plus
Knowledge of WAN optimization, load balancing and high availability techniques; Riverbed Steelhead, Citrix Netscaler a plus
Experience with Cisco Unified Communications and Collaboration products, such as CUCM, CUC, CUPS a plus
Strong understanding of different WAN technologies, such as MPLS, Metro Ethernet, Ethernet Private Line (EPL), DSL, etc.
Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, with logical problem solving from Layer 1 through Layer 7 of the OSI model
Ability to perform TCP/IP packet analysis, using Wireshark and other packet analysis tools
SAN switching and virtualization knowledge, not required but a plus
Essential Job Functions
Participate in planning design, technical review and implementation of network infrastructure
Identify potential problem areas and develop comprehensive solutions
Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations of network infrastructure; duties include the monitoring of utilization and response time along with detection and correction of operational problems
Establish and maintain technical procedures, configuration standards and troubleshooting methodologies
Work with the Management to continually reassess current practices, identify deficiencies and\or areas that can be improved
Generate documentation as requested pertaining to a variety of areas inclusive of though not limited to new network implementations, DR procedures, Visio’s and KB guides
Participate in project work in varying capacities; this is inclusive of though not limited to acting in the capacity of project lead, being able to be tasked to carry out and execute high level\impact projects and acting with minimal supervision when needed.
Maintain and track system and application changes through change management approval process.
Utilize security tools to audit and maintain internal accounts and access controls.
Continually audit and monitor systems for deficiencies and perform necessary maintenance as required.
Participate in Firm Mergers and Integrations and varying capacities
Work directly with other groups in the department on new implementations and various project work
Able to transition various high level infrastructure process to other IT team’s and\or team members once they have achieved operational status
Provide mentorship and guidance to other team members
Participate in 24x7 system support rotation and handle escalations
