This role will work with other Network Engineers, Architects, Project Managers and end users and focus on designing and deploying high availability, robust, resilient and supportable solutions to support the Office network environment. With a focus on the infrastructure and operational elements of designing and deploying a service, the Network Engineer must ensure the services are highly available, have sufficient infrastructure capacity in place and are fully resilient. A major part of this role will be working very closely with key stakeholders, Technology Strategy Architecture teams and Service Desk to ensure adherence to agreed service levels.
Design, implement and support the corporate network infrastructure. Key member of the team responsible for designing and developing scalable and highly available global network architectures to meet the firm’s business needs
Participate in the design, setup and configuration of complex L2/L3 switch infrastructure
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for the entire LAN (Local Area Network) for multiple office locations
Configure and support multiple datacenters consisting of a Cisco LWAN/LAN (L2/L3), ASR/ISR WAN, ASA firewalls, Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnects, Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba Wireless LAN Controllers and other miscellaneous network appliances
Responsible for managing, monitoring and maintaining a L3 private IP MPLS carrier network via BGP peering as well as a sophisticated private BGP WAN topology. Full ownership of all WAN CE routers, configurations, QoS policies and ensuring stability of the network 24/7
Fully support, manage and enhance a global Cisco VOIP infrastructure across multiple clusters with over 4500 endpoints
Support of the firm’s global wireless infrastructure made up of all Areohive and Aruba AP’s and Controllers
On a rotating basis, provide after hour coverage to respond to network related issues occurring either before or after support hours
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 2-4 years of experience. A combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration
Expert level experience implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network devices, such as Cisco ASA, Cisco ARS, Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst, Aruba Wireless Controllers and Access Points, and Riverbed Steelhead Controllers, Juniper Firewalls and F5 GTM & LTM Devices
Relevant experience in enterprise or Internet service industry with a service operational background supporting high availability 24x7x365 environments
Practical experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, such as DNS, and DHCP, Infoblox
Advanced knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols including, but not limited to MPLS, STP, LLDP, OSPF, BGP, VRF, VRP
Ability to lead and create consensus around new ideas and initiatives, building confidence in the outcome, and deliver
