As a QA Automation Engineer (SDET) you’ll work with both the QA and Software Engineering teams to create and maintain automation frameworks, associated test scripts, regression test suites and performance test suites for software created in-house, as well as third party software integrations. This includes web-based and mobile applications, along with client-server desktop applications such as Symitar, our core banking software. You’ll collaborate with the QA Lead to define strategy and process, bringing automation in line with existing functional aspects of the test effort. You’ll be responsible for the design and development of automated testing using Microsoft’s Team Foundation Server as an Application Lifecycle Management solution and Selenium Webdriver/CodedUI for automation tasks. You’ll create, execute and maintain test automation scripts. In addition, you’ll be responsible for assisting in the creation of reporting metrics associated with the automation tests.
Your day may include:
Implementing and developing automated test practices for web, mobile and windows applications primarily using Selenium WebDriver for both web and windows applications to drive regression testing and continuous integration
Collaborating with software engineers on performance testing strategies and results
Participating in code reviews and coaching other employees in automation efforts
Identifying, analyzing, and documenting problems with program function, output, online screen or content
Using Microsoft Test Manager to create Bugs; collaborating with development team throughout issue resolution phase
Compiling test results into reports/dashboards for applicable audiences
Working with QA Lead and colleagues to define process and strategy associated with automation
Planning test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope/delivery dates
Participating in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules or potential problems
What you bring to the team:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Related experience may be substituted for academic achievement
Minimum three (3) years of experience in QA and Software Testing
Strong skills in Selenium Webdriver and dynamic data driven test suites
Experience with Visual Studio, TFS, CodedUI, Microsoft Test Manager, MSBuild, Postman/Restcliet or other service testing tool, Performance/Load testing tools such as JMeter, as well as SQL and unit testing technologies such as NUnit
Ability to read detailed test cases and produce solid, repeatable coded tests that can run in a continuous integration environment
Familiarity with Agile and working knowledge of Scrum
Experience testing at the Service layer with any tool such as PostMan/SoapUI
Credibility in the computer industry; knowledge and insight to allow WSECU to vary its products and delivery methods
Current on technology trends and ability to provide clear direction for the credit union to meet strategic initiatives
Ability to interact in a positive, collaborative and constructive manner to many levels of staff internally, as well as outside individuals and vendors
Ability to "translate" between technical resources and non-technical staff
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
