SELEX Galileo Inc. is a US subsidiary of Leonardo, a global high-tech company and one of the key players in Aerospace, Defense, and Security sectors, is seeking a Systems Engineer for Radio Frequency (RF) and Electronic Warfare (EW) who has the skills, experience, and enthusiasm to actively support the deployment, training, and sales of the current and next generation airborne RF sensor and communication electronic systems within the Electronic Warfare (EW) domain.

The RF Systems Engineer for SELEX Galileo Inc. is the company’s technical expert on RF systems as applied to EW including RF countermeasures (RFCM), Radar Warning Receivers (RWR) and Electronic Support Measures (ESM). As the technical expert for RF systems the EW RF Systems Engineer for SG Inc. will support proposals, lead efforts to tailor product designs for US specific requirements, support customer training, support customer evaluation/testing of products and provide after sales product support.

Working with an international team of world leaders in EW, the RF Engineer will interact with and learn from a wide-range of technical experts while engaging our customer community in training and supporting the sale of products in the US which were developed by Leonardo.  Be the focal for the Leonardo portfolio of EW systems in the US (e.g. BriteCloud Expendable Active Decoy (EAD), SAGE Electronic Support Measures (ESM) and SEER Radar Warning Receiver).
 Support the development of long-term strategies for tailoring products to meet specific US requirements.
 Support the Business Development Team as the technical expert for RF systems.
 Participate in the full engineering lifecycle of systems, including requirements, product design, development, test, integration, validation and verification, delivery, maintenance and support.
 Support product installation, test events in the US and accompany potential US Customers to UK test events involving the parent company.
 Support customers and end users.
 Interface with technical staff in customer organizations and present EW products from a technical perspective.
 Assist users in problem resolution, writing technical papers to support the users as needed and participation in user technical discussion.
 Participate in SELEX Galileo Inc. engineering team processes, designs review, proposals development and engineering product sales.
 Perform traceability of requirements using requirements management tools.
 Follow engineering lifecycle processes and support the reporting of key performance measures.
 Collaborate with members of the systems engineering team and a range of technical and non-technical project stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
 Contribute to the capture and management of risks.
 Support the development of cost and schedule estimates.
 Perform peer reviews.
 Actively support knowledge sharing and exploitation of best practices.

Position Requirements

 An undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
 Ability to obtain and maintain a US SECRET security clearance (active clearance desired).
 Highly polished verbal and written communication skills - able to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical counterparts.
 Minimum of 10 years’ engineering experience, with 5 years related to Electronic Warfare RF Systems to include familiarity with airborne RF electronics technology, performance, and operational concepts.
 Have a solid understanding of military RFCM techniques such as Digital RF Memory (DRFM).
 Experience with RF Modeling tools and an understanding of threat system radar signatures.
 Experience as a systems architect, developing RF Systems through requirement development, design, development and testing is desired.
 Ability to effectively manage time while working multiple activities.
 An understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and review gates.
 Able to create, update, and manage requirements flow-down and traceability to the customer.
 Ability to create, update and manage test procedures to prove requirements compliance.
 Able to manage the end-to-end lifecycle traceability and reporting to achieve certification and delivery.
 Experience with the latest standard office PC environment is required.


 BSEE or related technical degree.

Work Conditions

 Office environment with Huntsville Al as the primary work location.
 Travel: appx 25-50% (some international, primarily to the UK).
 Regular demonstrations and testing within the SELEX Galileo Inc. Systems Integration Laboratory.
 Occasional work at customer and partner laboratories and EW ranges.
