Pentair currently has an opening for a Lead Enterprise Architect to drive the unified IoT architecture in the Smart Products & IoT Innovation Center. This Lead Architect will be responsible for defining the IoT technical architecture, security, data and deployment model. This role will be driving the POCs (proof of concepts), MVPs (minimum viable products) as well as the technical architecture for large scale roll-outs from the devices up through cloud architecture and integration with enterprise applications, in collaboration with technology teams in Pentair’s Business Segments. This individual must be well-versed in the latest technologies in IoT & Digital space including AI, ML, AR/VR and be capable of applying them to develop innovative solutions.

You will:

Lead and develop the unified IoT architecture for Smart Products.
Have a technical responsibility to drive POCs, MVPs and scaled IoT solutions across all Pentair’s Business Segments.
Be responsible for defining the architecture, security, data and deployment model.
Provide technical leadership and collaborate with Business Segment technology team leaders to address the complete Smart products and IoT solutions technology stack:
Hardware/Device Layer
Sensor Selection and Interface
Device Firmware Development
Connectivity Layer
Cloud Server Side Architecture
Data Collection
Data Analytics
Web and Mobile App Development
Integration with Enterprise systems
Security
Demonstrate sound technical judgement and play a critical role as the main technical authority (lead SME – subject matter expert) on all IoT technical implementation and support the development of the long-term company-wide IoT strategy.
Present technical topics, IoT trends etc. to team & management.
Provide technical support to the Business Segment technology teams for various activities such as with testing, validation, sustaining, value engineering, and DevOps required for these Smart Products & IoT solutions.
Be responsible for evaluating competitive products, developing differentiated offerings, and generating Intellectual Property (IP) benefiting the company.
Have hands-on experience to mentor team members.
Publish White Papers and blogs.


You should:

Have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
Have 15+ years of experience in technical architecture, including 4+ years of experience in the Smart Products & IoT area.
Have designed solutions for large IoT implementations (500k+ devices) that have been commercially deployed.
Have an in depth knowledge and hands-on experience of AWS (Amazon Web Services) IoT platform and services.
Have expertise on various IoT application enablement platforms, device management, user management, security, etc.
Have 3+ years of experience in Data Analytics & Big Data.
Have deep technical knowledge in IoT Platforms, Telematics, embedded hardware and software, connectivity, cloud architecture, device provisioning, visualization tools & techniques, data analytics, and other IoT technical areas.
Have experience in designing the HA Architecture and DC-DR setup.
Have proven track records of developing innovative IoT solutions, preferably for residential or commercial markets.
Have experience in agile development, stage gate process, minimum viable product development, and DevOps tools.
Have a can-do positive attitude, while always looking to accelerate development.
Be driven, commit to high standards of performance and demonstrate personal ownership for getting the job done.
Have an innovative and entrepreneurial attitude.
Have the ability to stay up to speed on all the latest technologies and industry trends.
Have a healthy curiosity to evaluate, understand and utilize new technologies.
Be able to lead team of creative engineers and motivate them to come up with innovative solutions.
Be able to provide leadership to technology team while managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Possess excellent communication and presentation skills for interactions with technology team members, Business Segment stakeholders, company leadership, vendors and customers.
