Job Title: Senior Software Developer (01-007)

Location: Sterling, VA

Be a part of a team whose mission it is to save lives, prevent injuries and reduce economic costs due to road traffic and crashes. Strongbridge designs, develops, operates, and maintains the systems that collect, analyze, and report all crashes that occur on U.S. roadways, identifies and tracks vehicle recall information from manufacturers, and interfaces with other agencies’ systems such as Federal Highways Administration (FHA) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to report specific roadway and commercial driver accident records. The systems and data that Strongbridge provides are used to derive root causes of accidents, and develop strategies to reduce accidents, injuries, and fatalities. Strongbridge is seeking a Senior Software Developer to support mission critical and technically progressive systems development work for the U.S. Government on our contract located in Sterling, VA. Job Description:

The Senior Software Developer will specialize in the Microsoft technology stack and be highly skilled in C#, JavaScript and SQL with experience working with ASP.NET, MVC or Web API, and experience developing databases in SQL Server. Must have an understanding of building scalable, well-architected and high-performance web applications hosted in a distributed environment. The developer will be responsible for building and maintaining internal- and external-facing applications and will work with a team of experienced analysts and developers to build enterprise integrated systems. Key activities include:

• Designing, implementing and debugging new software systems
• Extracting and transforming data from various data sources
• Enhancing and maintaining existing software components including APIs, services, databases, user interfaces and reports.
• Researching and prototyping proof of concept solutions based on client requirements and making recommendations to management
• Interacting with customer stakeholders, end users and team members to identify application requirements
• Troubleshooting production problems related to databases and software applications
• Responding to end user problem reports, reviewing suggestions for improvements and enhancement requests.
• The Software Developer position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a government public clearance. Additional requirements include: US citizen or Permanent Resident or EAD and must have lived and worked in the US for the past three years.


Required Skills/Credentials:

• 5+ years of experience developing data management systems and web applications
• 1+ years hands-on experience in a senior developer role
• Expert understanding of MS SQL Server 2008+ with ability to write user defined functions, complex stored procedures, analyze query plans and profiling traces
• Expert knowledge of: C#, SQL, ASP.NET / Familiarity with Entity Framework 6, or another object-relational library.
• Exposure to developing and consuming RESTful web services
• Familiarity with data transformations from various data sources including XML/JSON/CSV
• Hands-on understanding of all facets of software development life cycle including hands-on familiarity with Agile and CMMI methodologies
• Tools: MS Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Mathematics, or ability to demonstrate advanced competencies during phone- and face-to-face interviews.
• The Software Developer position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a government public clearance. Additional requirements include: US citizen or Permanent Resident or EAD and must have lived and worked in the US for the past three years.

• MVC, WEB API, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, Bootstrap
• AngularJS 1.x, Angular 6/7, TypeScript
• Additional Platforms/Tools: Selenium WebDriver, WPF, ESRI ArcGIS, MongoDB or other NoSQL platforms, Microsoft Azure
• Experience with MS Test, NUnit or another unit testing library.
• Configuration of Internet Information Services 8+ (IIS) running on Windows Server 2012+

Interview process
