OBXtek is seeking a Sr. Middleware Administrator with DevOps to join our team in Reston, Virginia with 8+ years of experience in implementing, configuring, and tuning / optimizing Oracle 10g and 12C stack and Java based applications and 2+ years of DevOps experience in implementing CI/CD deployment pipeline.
OBXtek provides OSHA program management, software development, training, help desk, infrastructure operations and production support. This work includes leading edge SOA software development implementing an Oracle Service Bus architecture, SAP Business Objects business intelligence data warehousing/reporting support, instructor led and virtual user training, and a call center for users of the OSHA Information Systems (OIS). In addition to software engineering OBXtek delivers consultative and administrative support to multiple OSHA regions.
The OSHA Information System (OIS) itself is a Case Management solution implemented in several distinct application modules. These tools are mission critical to OSHA’s enforcement, compliance assistance, consultation and outreach efforts. OIS is also meant to interface with national research laboratories, Treasury, Pay.gov, and banks.
OIS represents and ongoing and significant investment of Department of Labor / OSHA dollars into information technology infrastructure and programming. OIS tools are used nationwide across all OSHA regions and interface with a number of other information technology systems maintained by the Department of Labor, Treasury, State governments, etc. OIS O&M and new development must be planned and executed with Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) and related Enterprise Architecture, Portfolio Management and Earned Value Management principals in mind.
Responisiblities include but are not limited to:
Install and configure middleware stack
Oracle 10g products – WebLogic, WCI & BPM
Oracle 12c products – WebLogic & OBIEE
SAP Products – BODS & BO
Talend Data Integration
Apache – Tomcat & Webserver
Oracle Sun One LDAP Server
Monitor and tune the middleware stack for optimum performance levels
Debug performance related problems and identify performance bottlenecks
Monitor, schedule and perform middleware upgrades
Analyze the application vulnerability scan reports and come up with mitigation steps
Support application deployments in production and lower environments
Provide production (Tier – 2) support and extended support when required to meet project deadlines
Design, implement and maintain CI/CD deployment pipeline
Assist the lead with other tasks as needed
8 + years of hands-on experience in installation, configuration and administration of Oracle products like WebLogic, WCI, BPM & OBIEE on Solaris/Linux platforms
Hands-on experience in the creation and management of WebLogic clusters
Operational experience in supporting WebLogic in a multi-tiered web environment and understand the interaction between each tier
Strong experience in creating shell scripts for automation and monitoring of middleware applications
Hands-on experience with Java Profiler tools, Thread analysis, JDBC, and JVM tuning.
Experience with large scale J2EE application deployments
At least 2 years of DevOps experience
Architecture, design, build, and operationalization in CI/CD deployment pipeline
DevOps tools like Jenkins, SonarQube, Git, Maven, Fortify, Chef, Ansible, Nexus Repository, etc.
Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP is a big plus
