Be a Senior Systems Engineer (Linux) on one of the highest-profile and significant cybersecurity systems in the United States.
Tellenger, Inc., seeks a talented team member to support our highly motivated engineering teams to support the Department of Homeland Security’s Continuous Diagnostics Mitigation (CDM) project. This is an important project for our company and will be a resume builder for you. In this role you will leverage a mix of infrastructure, cloud, application, and technical leadership experience to architect and engineer within the operations team. It's an exciting project that will support the cybersecurity posture of the federal government. You will work onsite at the project team’s location in Fairfax, VA.

*Candidate must be able to obtain TS/SCI Clearance and DHS Suitability.
Lead the architecture, design, and transition to a new Linux platform environment leveraging Elasticsearch, CI/CD, and strong supporting systems such as automation and orchestration.
The successful candidate thrives on implementation of new technologies and values leading a scalable operation with a metrics-driven approach.
Along with the team, routinely interact with government stakeholders to communicate status, issues and progress.
Lead architecture, engineering, and support to build, document, operate, maintain, and sustain the system.
Support the outgoing legacy windows-based COTS application.
The successful candidates will have the following experience and required skills:
Prior experience in designing/architecting enterprise scale systems incorporating a variety of components (COTS, Open Source) and supporting integration as it pertains to processing raw, user generated content into information that is suitable for infusion into decision making processes.
Strong experience with Linux operating systems.
Experience with supporting systems such as monitoring, backup, log aggregation, and ITSM.
Knowledge of CI/CD methodologies.
Related experience with techniques that reduce downtime such as Blue/Green deployments.
Experience with automating operations within a Linux environment either on-prem or in the cloud.
Experience supporting systems performance analysis, recommending modifications, and executing system changes in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
5+ years of experience and designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise level systems.
5+ years of experience leading and coordinating team activities for IT Operations.
Demonstrated ability to apply an understanding of systems administration and operations to proactively identify and remediate day-to-day technical and operational challenges and issues.
Track record of excellent technical writing and presentation skills to manage and improve processes that result in consistently outstanding customer service and support.
Understand current cyber exploits, attack methodology, and detection techniques using a wide variety of security products including COTS and open source.
A player-coach mind-set with an in-the-trenches style and a strong willingness to roll up the sleeves to dive into technical challenges as needed.
Strategic and forward thinking, proven ability to plan ahead.
It’s a plus if you have:
Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
DoD Secret clearance or higher
Experience working in a Federal Government IT environment
Cloud workload experience (Amazon Web Services, Azure, etc)
Experience with data administration and “data as a service” model
Experience utilizing big data and cloud tools and technologies
Experience working as a Cyber Security professional
Location Requirements: Willing to work full-time onsite in Fairfax, VA
