Kapsch TrafficCom is seeking a Systems Engineer for our office located in Pleasanton, CA.



The Systems Engineer will participate in the entire lifecycle of projects including design, configuration, commissioning, testing and training. Systems Engineers, work as part of a project team engaging in the following tasks for the implementation and delivery of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Advanced Traffic Management (ATMS) systems.

•Specific responsibilities will include:
•Developing programmable logic controller (PLC) applications
•Developing graphical user interfaces, process databases and reports
•HMI configuration
•Performing application and system testing
•Performing operator and system training
•Mechanical and electrical design of control panels
•Developing operator and system maintenance training materials
•Creating application and system test procedures
•Developing design-related documentation
•On-site commissioning of systems


The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in an engineering discipline (for example Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.) with three years of experience in the design, installation and testing of integrated controls systems or industrial automation.



Relevant experience as a Controls Engineer or Automation Engineer should include PLC programming, HMI or SCADA software graphics configuration and database development, control panel design and communications system implementation is an asset.



Experience with Allen-Bradley or Modicon PLCs is preferred.



Travel of approximately 15 to 20% is expected in this role.
