As a Systems Engineer working at Ascolta, you’ll be supporting Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) projects, collaborating with product management as well as fellow engineers. You will primarily integrate hardware, software, man-machine interfaces and all system level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution on classified customer sites. You will develop integrated system test requirement, strategies, devices and systems and direct overall on-site system-level testing.

What this position entails:

Software development in object-orientated languages
Integrating and troubleshooting custom software on-site
Articulating software configuration and use through documentation
Identifying testing criteria and implementing acceptance tests for software applications
Communicating with managers to ensure that customer requirements are properly understood and met
Researching and utilizing new and emerging technologies to meet customer requirements
Providing technical support to ensure smooth integration of software applications to a production environment
You might be a good fit -- If you:

Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in object-oriented programming languages
Have experience working Air Force DCGS projects
Work iteratively and are driven by feedback loops and critique
Enjoy working on a highly technical team
Enjoy teaching and mentoring junior team members
Are passionate about automating as much of your workflow as possible

U.S. Citizen required
Current TS//SCI security clearance is required
4+ Years of Object Orientated Programming Experience
4+ Years of Linux/Unix experience
4+ Years of Git experience
3+ Years of VMware, OpenStack, AWS, Azure, or GCP experience
2+ Years’ experience Chef, Ansible, Saltstack, or Puppet experience
Ability to travel required, 4 to 6 trips annually to Georgia, California, Virginia.
A qualified candidate will include demonstrable experience in much of the following

Programming Languages

JavaProficiency in HashiCorp tools such as Vagrant, Packer, Terraform, Consul, Nomad, and Vault
Public Clouds

Amazon Web Services
Google Compute PlatformGovernment Clouds
AWS GovCloud
Azure GovernmentDocker or other containerization technologies
Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Circle CI, etc
An understanding of microservice based software development techniques
