ABOUT THE ROLE:
At BJSS our test and assurance engineers can fulfill or specialise in multiple roles, be that Test Architect, SDET, Non-Functional Tester, Technical Tester or Test Lead. As a student of modern agile methods and imbued with the whole delivery lifecycle - including analysis, enterprise development, build & deployment - you will thrive on challenging the status quo, and looking for innovative ways of working. Able to continually teach yourself and coach others to improve, you should be adaptable and ready to improvise to overcome problems.

Experienced in languages such as Java, C#, Python, Javascript - or other scripting languages - and skilled in the use of tools used for functional, performance, mobile and non-functional testing, as well as BDD frameworks, CI/CD tooling and build pipelines, you will have the chance to creatively implement novel techniques using the tools you are already familiar with to existing processes.

You don't need to have prior experience in all these skills; if you have a technical aptitude, a desire to explore new tools and technologies through continuous learning, then BJSS can provide you the experience to develop your skills and expand your career horizons.

Tech Stack

Each project that you work on will vary. BJSS is not a product business, and each solution that we develop is unique, giving you the opportunity to work with a range of different technologies and technical environments, and exposure to a variety of clients and industries. From engineering to data science to enterprise architecture, we are hiring across all of our teams.

In the engineering team Java knowledge and varied technical experience is key, as is a focus on delivering fully tested, high quality code for the majority of our clients. On the Frontend our clients utilise JavaScript UI development, including; Modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue, as a team we focus on high quality, delivering stable code with high unit test coverage as standard practice.

Our rapidly growing data practice covers data modelling, engineering and science. The nature of the work, broadly speaking will require an engineer to have a track record of using Python, you can expect to tackle complex data manipulation, unit testing, multithreading, task distribution etc as a well rounded engineer.

Experience or working knowledge of other languages like Scala or Java, hands-on Spark, Hadoop exposure, NoSQL, stream processing tools, cloud architecture and, of course, general SQL skills are most welcome.

The nature of our projects will require enterprise scale deployment to production ready Big Data or Cloud systems.

Interview process

We have a rapid interview process with an aim to provide feedback within 48hrs. We do sometimes include an additional face to face meeting when certain interviewers may struggle for availability on our side.
