Senior HCM Benefits Configurator designs, develops and supports Workday configuration of the HCM platform globally with focus on Workday Benefits and touchpoints to Recruiting, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Core HR, Learning, Absence, Workforce Planning, interfacing to GM global solutions for payroll and time keeping and will be responsible for all phases of the development/configuration lifecycles including post-production support as needed. The applicant should have experience developing and supporting HR business processes. To be successful in this role, they must have a deep knowledge of Workday's integration technologies, Workday's Implementation methodology, and work closely with internal and external resources. They will combine these skills to deliver and support successful deployments.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead Benefit work stream driving towards decisions and recommending best practices related to functionality including, but not limited to: benefit groups, plans, coverage levels, rates, eligibility rules, ACA configuration, enrollment event processing, Open Enrollment configuration and processing
Work alongside the integration team and benefit vendors to configure and test integrations between the Workday solution and the client’s selected benefits providers.
Review WD releases for any benefits related feature and functionalities and implement them on a timely manner 
10+ years demonstrated development/configuration experience in Human Resources related domains, (Benefits etc.)
Coordinate with GM’s Workday implementation partners to ensure the timelines and deadlines are met
Become a Workday Benefit expert with deep knowledge of current functionality, design concepts, touch points with HCM, Payroll, and Compensation and future product direction
Provide documentation and artifacts required for each phase of the development life cycle
Develop test cases and peer review code of other developers
Provide production support and respond to issues and incidents on a timely manner
Ensure compliance with technical best practices, standards and policies
Train other junior resources to support Workday configurations
Prepare technical documentation and ability to support testing from development till post production supports.
Proven ability to successfully juggle multiple projects and priorities and able to shift direction quickly when priorities change. 
Minimum Qualifications:

 Applicants must have strong core IT skills gained in a business environment along with the following technical skills and experience:

Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited Institution
Proficiency with Agile Development Techniques
Ability to clearly communicate with peers, business analysts, and subject matter experts
4+ years of experience in Workday Benefits configuration
4+ years supporting integrations with third-party service vendors
Subject Matter Expertise in Benefits including understand of plan design options, vendor relationship and data exchange, health care plans, insurance plans, retirement savings accounts, FSA/HSA accounts, common executive benefits and high level compliance
International benefit experience is desirable
Good understanding of Workday security, person model and organization hierarchy
Excellent organizational skills with ability to multitask effectively
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with internal and external resources
Ability to lead as a technical expert; from gathering requirements, designing, prototyping, testing and deploying solutions to meet customer requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to partner with business, HRIS teams including technical and non-technical at all levels.
Analytical approach to solving system issues including understanding system interdependencies.
Proven ability to successfully juggle multiple projects and priorities and able to shift direction quickly when priorities change.
